Grammy Legend: Beyoncé’s New Historic Wins
Beyoncé scored a historic win at the 2025 Grammy Awards. Not only did she become the first Black woman to take home Album of the Year for Cowboy Carter, but she also secured her first victory in the category after four previous nominations and losses.
When asked about the significance of the win, Beyoncé shared with Entertainment Tonight, “It’s very surreal, and it’s been 25 years of working really hard and trying my best to keep growing and opening up doors… so I’m just very honored.”

She also took a moment to acknowledge the Los Angeles Fire Department members who presented her with the award as an honor for their bravery and work through the LA wildfires.
In addition to Album of the Year, Cowboy Carter had 11 nominations and won Best Country Album, making her the first Black woman to earn that title. She also secured Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “ll Most Wanted,” featuring Miley Cyrus.
She extended her gratitude to the country music community, stating, “The love I got tonight really made me feel so seen, and I’m very grateful. Hopefully, they continue to open up the world for people who just love and respect the genre, no matter where they come from.”
Meanwhile, backstage she shared “I feel overwhelmed, so full, thank you so much. This is a beautiful night,” she said, adding with some sass and a wrist roll, “The Beyhive is buzzin.’”
She shared a sweet moment about her daughter Blue Ivy, who joined her on stage. Beyond this win, Cowboy Carter also spotlighted Black country artists, including Rhiannon Giddens, whos banjojo skills shined on “Texas Hold ‘Em”. The singer reflected, “I feel honored to reintroduce this history that has been lost.”
