The drag queen, CEO, and founder of her makeup company, KimChi Chic Beauty, has announced to fans her upcoming debut cookbook, Kim Chi Eats.

Chi became famous after placing in the top three on the eighth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. She has been busy since then, from collabs to launching her own makeup company in 2019. This year, however, is the year of Kim Chi’s published author era.

Chi shared a post about the Publishers Marketplace deal report on her cookbook on her Instagram story on Thursday.

The report stated, “Author of the forthcoming THE LIBRARY IS OPEN and RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Kim Chi’s KIM CHI EATS, pitched as Somebody Feed Phil meets Diners, Drive-ins, and Drag Queens, featuring culinary stories from the author’s life traveling the world as an internationally renowned drag queen and obsessed foodie, alongside recipes of their favorite dishes they’ve loved along the way, to Amanda Englander at Union Square & Co, publication in spring 2025, by David Purse at Inked Entertainment (world).”

Anticipating fans know Chi loves food and has her own podcast all about it called 1 For The Table, which she co-hosts with YouTube cook, Jon Kung. The makeup mogul has also done viral Mukbang videos with her friend and fellow RuPaul’s Drag Race alum, Trixie Mattel. In 2023, she went on The Splendid Table podcast and discussed her Miyeokguk, seaweed soup, recipe.

On her episode with The Splendid Table, she also mentioned her work on the web series Cooking with Drag Queens and trying to change the perceptions around food and drag.

Chi shared, “When I first started doing drag, every drag queen would tell me the main rule of drag is you do not eat in drag, and you’re never seen eating in drag. Like, be grand about yourself. But I’m like…I don’t think eating makes me…less grand. So then, I tried to start a movement in the drag community, and I’d get pictures of drag queens eating and then post them with #DragQueensEating. And it actually took off, and then drag queens from all around the world were posting pictures of themselves eating with #DragQueensEating.”

In addition to her cookbook, Kim Chi also has her forthcoming book, Donutella Hamachi and the Library Avengers, co-written with Stephan Lee and illustrated by Utomaru.

You can already preorder Donutella Hamachi and the Library Avengers today. However, her cookbook Kim Chi Eats is not available to preorder yet. In the meantime, you can stream 1 For The Table wherever you listen to your podcasts.
