Law & Order: Organized Crime Announces Date for New Season
Season five of Law & Order: Organized Crime debuts on April 17 on Peacock.
Detective Elliot Stabler and his team are returning to the screen, but not on NBC. Season five of Law & Order: Organized Crime will be available exclusively for streaming on Peacock.
The series moved from NBC to Peacock following the end of the fourth season. The streaming platform recently released a trailer for the upcoming season, along with photos from filming.
“Season five explores the dangerous worlds of cross-border smuggling, high-tech domestic terrorism and a crime family intent on repaying Stabler (Christopher Meloni) for the injury he did them in Rome,” the official logline states. “As his worlds collide, Stabler will put everything on the line to protect the vulnerable and fight for justice.”
The cast includes Danielle Moné Truitt, Rick Gonzalez, Ainsley Sieger, and Dean Norris. It will continue to run on Thursdays alongside Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU, which still air on NBC.
Mariska Hargitay, who portrays Stabler’s former partner Olivia Benson on Law & Order: SVU, told Variety last year that she planned to appear on the series’s upcoming season.
“We had a party the other night, we saw each other. It was heavenly,” Hargitay stated. “I met his showrunner. They want us together, and Chris and I were talking about it, and it’s time., It’s time now for us.”
She described how their characters have spent so much time apart, and finally, time to bring them together once again.
“This was a long time not being in each other’s universe,” she stated. “That’s why we did the calls and stuff like that. But we’re excited to get back in there, get back in the ring.”
Following the premiere of the first two episodes, the series will be followed by eight episodes available weekly. Catch the first two episodes on Peacock, premiering April 17. Check out the trailer below.
