SM ENTERTAINMENT

Red Velvet’s Seulgi is set to release her highly anticipated second EP, Accidentally On Purpose, on March 10, marking her first solo comeback since 28 Reasons.

Led by the single “Baby, Not Baby,” the EP promises a dynamic mix of genres and aesthetics, highlighting Seulgi’s versatility.

SM Entertainment unveiled a detailed promotional schedule, beginning with an EP trailer on February 24. Teaser images and highlight clips for each track (except the lead single) followed from February 27 to March 5.

The tracklist was revealed on March 3, and the final teaser, a music video preview, will drop on March 7 before the official release on March 10.

The Accidentally On Purpose trailer introduces Seulgi as a vigilante-like figure, evoking Catwoman’s antiheroine mystique or Ariana Grande’s look in “The Boy Is Mine” music video.

She storms into a cryptic gathering of comic book-style characters, as pulsating beats intensify the sense of urgency and intrigue, teasing a sonically dynamic EP filled with drama and rebellion.

The first teaser for “Whatever” presents a carefree Seulgi in an isolated setting, receiving wary glances from passersby. The track’s laidback sound complements her relaxed yet confidence visuals.

The “Praying” teaser maintains the vigilante aesthetic, featuring the K-pop icon in a sleek black leather outfit, her sharp makeup and red hair contrasting with the track’s soft, ethereal tone.

On March 3, the animated “A.O.P. Car Trailer” was released, showing a cartoonized Seulgi speeding through the night in a black sports car marked with her album’s logo. The teaser concluded with a reveal of the EP’s tracklist:

  • “Baby, Not Baby”
  • “Better Dayz”
  • “Rollin’ (With My Homies)”
  • “Whatever”
  • “Praying”
  • “Weakness”

The third teaser for “Weakness” features a bright pop-rock aesthetic, with the artist sporting pink hair and a lyric tee featuring the phrase, “Wait, they don’t love you like I love you,” a reference to “Maps” by Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Dreamy vocals and soaring high notes emphasize the song’s emotional depth.

In the highlight clip for “Rollin’ (With My Homies),” she appears in graffiti-covered alleys, donning a blue fur coat. The track’s upbeat energy matches her vibrant visuals.

The final teaser for “Better Dayz” showcases a grunge-inspired look, with the singer posing in stairwells and rooftops in a black overcoat and a graphic tee reading “Only God Can Cancel Me.” The track’s rockstar energy caps off the EP’s diverse soundscape.

With each teaser offering a new glimpse into Seulgi’s artistic range, Accidentally On Purpose is shaping up to be an exciting and multifaceted release, blending striking visuals with a wide array of musical influences.
