Chuu Returns With New Emotional EP Only Cry in the Rain, Exploring Love, Loss, and Hidden Emotions

Chuu made her comeback on April 21 with the release of her third EP, Only Cry in the Rain, marking a powerful and introspective chapter in her musical journey. 

The EP consists of five emotionally charged tracks:

• “Only Cry in the Rain”
• “Back in Town”
• “Kiss a Kitty”
• “Je t’aime”
• “No More”

This release showcases the artist’s deeper, more emotional side, contrasting with her previously brighter, more playful image. “Only Cry in the Rain shows maturity by managing and revealing emotions when I want to focus,” Chuu stated.

“I’ve incorporated various emotions into this album,” she shared, “It’s about the record of emotions and the wavering of memories.”

The Soundtrack of Sincerity

The title track, “Only Cry in the Rain,” serves as the emotional centerpiece of the EP. A dreamy fusion of synthpop and dream pop, the song pairs a melancholic melody with a soft, airy instrumental.

The singer expertly crafted the recurring motif of rain to represent the ebb and flow of emotions, explaining, “Rain comes unexpectedly, much like emotions, which is why I think they are very similar.”
