It’s open sesame on another magical heist. Lionsgate dropped the first trailer for Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, the third film in the action-packed Now You See Me franchise.

The trailer appears to skip over the events of the second film, Now You See Me 2. It’s reasonable since the title isn’t as cool as the first and third installments.

One of the original Four Horsemen, J. Daniel “Danny” Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg), needs a new team to pull off an impossible heist. Convinced by a magical tarot card – presumably, “the Eye” a secret society of magicians who act as modern Robin Hoods – he recruits some rookie magicians Ariana Greenblatt (Barbie), Dominic Sessa (The Holdovers), and Justice Smith (Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves) to aid his cause.

Their goal: to steal a rare and expensive diamond and expose a wealthy family of money launderers led by Rosamund Pike, who get rich by working with warlords and arms dealers.

When the new kids ask Danny why he doesn’t recruit the original Four Horsemen, Eisenberg’s character implies that the thieving magicians did not part on good terms.

However animosity doesn’t last because the remaining Four Horsemen, Merritt McKinney (Woody Harrelson), Henley Reeves (Isla Fisher), and Jack Wilder (Dave Franco) come to Danny and his new team’s rescue when their plan goes awry.

Other characters returning from the first two films are Morgan Freeman as Thaddeus Bradley and Mark Ruffalo as Dylan Rhodes; however, only the former is featured in the trailer.

But what was surprising was a glimpse of Fisher’s character trapped in a water tank. It was a blink, and you’ll miss the moment that references her introductory magic act in the first film.

But the stunt almost went awry in production. Fisher recalled that she nearly drowned during filming, which may have influenced her decision not to return for Now You See Me 2.

A preview of Now You See Me: Now You Don’t was previewed to audiences at CinemaCon. But around noon on the East Coast, Lionsgate took over Times Square with a large digital display at One Times Square, with a countdown and the caption “Text for magic” with a phone number.

Now You See Me: Now You Don’t is directed by Ruben Fleischer. This will be his fourth action film with Eisenberg and Harrelson, respectively. Fleischer directed Venom, featuring Harrelson, and 30 Minutes or Less, featuring Eisenberg. He also worked with both actors on the horror comedy Zombieland and its sequel, Zombieland: Double Tap

He will also direct Now You See Me 4, which Lionsgate has already greenlit earlier this month.

Now You See Me: Now You Don’t alakazams into theaters November 14.
