Now You See Me 3 is coming, and the film has just released its new cast of all-star actors who will return to the series along with some new faces.

The star-studded original cast will be returning, including Jesse Eisenberg (Zombieland), Woody Harrelson (True Detective), Isla Fisher (Wedding Crashers), Dave Franco (21 Jump Street), Mark Ruffalo (Poor Things), and Morgan Freeman (The Shawshank Redemption).

In addition to the returning cast members, the third film will have actors Ariana Greenblatt (Barbie), Dominic Sessa (The Holdovers), and Justice Smith (All The Bright Places) portray brand-new characters.

The first film’s storyline follows a team of daring magicians who call themselves the “Four Horsemen” who pull off a series of bank heists and robberies during live magic performances, taking money away from the corrupt and rewarding their audience with the money. An FBI agent (Ruffalo) and an Interpol detective track them, but they can’t find concrete evidence due to the illusion of their heists. The second film follows the team as they flee to China and meet a tech wizard (Daniel Radcliffe) who gives them the task of stealing a powerful chip that will hack into every computer in the world.

All that is known about the plot so far is that the story will once again explore the world of the “Four Horsemen” magicians and introduce the audience to a new generation of magicians (Greenblatt, Sessa, and Smith).

Eisenberg confirmed in an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last week, that the third film was in the works, as there had been speculation online. He stated, “Yes, it’s happening,” as the live audience cheered, “You know, the world has been asking for it, and we said yes.” In the interview, he also tells Jimmy Fallon they start filming in about two months.

The crime thriller is set to have a new director, Ruben Fleischer. He is known for his work on directing films like Uncharted and Zombieland. Louis Leterrier directed the first picture released in 2013, and Jon M. Chu directed the second in 2016.

The screenplay was written by Eric Warren Singer, Seth Graham Smith, and Mike Lesslie. Other writers include Gavin James, Ed Solomon, and Neil Widener. They will partner with Bobby Cohen and Alex Kurtzman of Secret Hideout to produce the film, and Chisom Ude will be the executive producer. Lionsgate will return to distribute it.

Longtime fans of the films are sharing their excitement on social media, tweeting how great of a job the casting department (Rich Delia and Amy Costa) did with the new and exciting additions.

Greenblatt began acting in 2016 in her Disney Channel role in the comedy series Stuck in the Middle. She received her first film role in the 2017 film A Bad Mom’s Christmas. She appeared in films like Avengers: Infinity War, Love and Monsters, and Awake in the next few years. She started to gain more recognition after her role in the Barbie film, the biggest film of 2023. She was also recently announced to portray Tiny Tina in the upcoming Borderlands film. Last year, she won Rising Star of the Year at the Big Screen Achievement Awards and was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance By Cast in a Motion Picture for Barbie.

Sessa debuted last year as Angus Tully in the award-winning film The Holdovers, which earned multiple Golden Globe and Academy Award nominations and wins. In his first acting role, he earned a BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role and a Critics Choice Award for Best Young Performer. He has already built a fan base, with many people on social media sharing their excitement for his casting.
