After years of music releases, Kylie Cantrall released her debut EP B.O.Y. at midnight on Wednesday.

Kylie Cantrall, famous for her starring roles on Disney from Gabby Duran & the Unsittables to Descendants: The Rise of Red, a movie series she will return to in the upcoming film Descendants: Wicked Wonderland, has finally released her debut EP.

Like some of today’s biggest music stars, including Olivia Rodrigo and Miley Cyrus, Cantrall has showcased her musical talents on the Mouse’s network while crafting her own musical identity.

Although the singer is still part of Disney, she has been able to create music that is more her style and less family-friendly. In her “Goodie Bag” music video, she jokes about the Hannah Montana-esque situation, simulating a phone call with the company and falsely promising, “Yeah, my belly button is totally covered.” This is not the only time Cantrall’s joked about going from her Red character to herself, having captioned posts advertising her song “Denim,” writing, “Sorry Mickey.”

Inspired by artists like Britney Spears and Janet Jackson, Cantrall’s B.O.Y. brings back Y2K pop to 2025. In her EP’s ten tracks, she explores her relationships and sexuality with confidence and sass. Cantrall also collaborated on the song “See U Tonight” with the rising K-pop girl group ILLIT’s Yunah and Minju, releasing the music video alongside B.O.Y.’s release.

She wrote on Instagram, “This truly is the EP I always dreamt I’d make one day. It’s all my biggest influences like Britney, Aaliyah, Brandy, and Janet all mixed together in some sort of Bratz doll blender with a lil hint of matcha to give it the Kylie flavor and sound that feels like my true energy. I wanted you guys to feel the energy of my live show in every song, as each track transitions into the next, the same way it would at the ‘Kylie Tour.'”

You can now listen to her new debut EP B.O.Y. on all streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, and TIDAL. You can also watch Cantrall’s latest music video for “See U Tonight” featuring ILLIT below.
