Help Aria, a 4-Year-Old With a New Rare Heart Condition

At four years old, Aria Cenatiempo has already faced more than most of us will in a lifetime, and she has done it with the kind of light that fills a room. Born with a serious congenital heart condition, this brave little girl and her family are now searching for a rare medical answer, and the good news is that there are simple, meaningful ways the community can help. Aria’s Story

Aria was born with Tetralogy of Fallot, a rare congenital heart defect made up of a combination of heart abnormalities that affect how blood flows through the body. Children born with it typically require open-heart surgery, and many go on to live full, joyful lives, but the road can be long and complicated.

For Aria, that road has taken an unexpected turn. Following a heart valve replacement, she has experienced a rare complication in which a LAD coronary artery became compressed, a situation her family notes is uncommon enough that very few specialists have encountered it firsthand. Now, they are on a mission to find someone who has.
