The anticipated hit detective series; Bloodlands, starring Irish actor James Nesbitt, is set to premiere overseas this month, on March 15.

Taking place in Northern Ireland, the enthralling action/drama series centers around detective Tom Brannick, who has a personal affiliation with his newest case. Tom’s wife, whom he’s lost 20 years ago, is connected to a series of disappearances. All the cases link up to an abandoned car with a suicide note, that has been pulled from the sea. While unraveling and coping with his troublesome past, this detective decides to embark on an obsessive investigation. He strives to unmask the criminal responsible for his wife’s death.

Directed by Pete Travis and written by Chris Brandon, Bloodlands tells a story of grief, secrets, and assassination. The series is filled with gripping action scenes, along with a compelling mystery that’s enough to make anyone stream and lose track of time.

James Nesbitt, known for his roles in Cold Feet and Bloody Sunday, takes the lead in Bloodlands as the stern-faced, troubled detective. The actor has expressed his sheer delightment for working in his homeland. Nesbitt has also described the main character as a “sensational role to play.”

Jed Mercurio-the creative mind behind Line of Duty and Bodyguard – is now working as the executive producer of Bloodlands, and Nesbitt couldn’t be more excited to finally work with him. Throughout the writing process, Brandon stated that he wanted to show the beauty of Northern Ireland, complete with all the energy and life it breathes today.

Bloodlands premiered on BBC One earlier this year, and fans have been eager to watch it from overseas. The series will finally be available to stream starting March 15, on Acorn TV.
