A new group of ponies is coming to Equestria in the new Netflix movie, My Little Pony: A New Generation. Vanessa Hudgens, Sofia Carson, Kimiko Glenn, and James Marsden will be voicing a new generation of ponies. The movies and their many predecessors are based on the popular Hasbro toy “My Little Pony.”

The film centers around Earth Pony named Sunny (Hudgens) and her journey to bring magic and unity back to Equestria. In this version of Equestria, magic is gone. Sunny sets out on an adventure to restore magic and bring unity to the different species. Along the way, she befriends a unicorn named Izzy (Glenn), Pegasi sisters Pipp (Carson) and Zipp (Koshy), and Hitch the Earth Pony (Marsden). Their misadventure is full of twists and turns, but these friends learn about the gifts and talents that make them unique. The message of the movie is that the smallest ponies can make a difference.

Originally the film was supposed to air on Paramount Pictures, but due to the pandemic, Netflix picked it up. Many people worked on this project, including Robert Cullen and Jose L. Ucha, who served as directors and creators, Mark Fattibene being one of the directors. Additional cast members include Liza Koshy, Ken Jeong, Elizabeth Perkins, Jane Krakowski, Phil LaMarr, and Michael McKean.

The film will be available to stream on September 24, 2021, on Netflix. Be sure to watch the video below for a first look at the movie and its voice cast.
