And Just Like That… has been renewed for season 3. Sarah Jessica Parker shared a photo on Instagram of the scripts for the first and second episodes from the cast’s table read.

Before the finale of season 2, the series was renewed for a third season. Michael Patrick King, executive producer and showrunner, expressed his enthusiasm about the upcoming season.

He wrote in a press release at the time, “We are thrilled to spend more time in the Sex and the City universe telling new stories about the lives of these relatable and aspirational characters played by these amazing actors. And Just Like That… Here comes season three.”

Season 2 concluded with a confusing twist. Carrie Bradshaw (Parker) and Aidan Shaw (John Corbett) parted ways for five years, while Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) made a brief but successful return to the franchise.

Before her cameo in the season 2 finale, Samantha’s absence was due to her decision to move to London after Carrie fired her as her publicist. However, the pair gradually mended their relationship with various references throughout the series, including text exchanges and Samantha sending flowers to Big’s funeral.

After the season 1 finale, they even had an offscreen drinks reunion.

Additionally, these developments left fans with many questions and added an intriguing layer of complexity to the storyline. There is no set release date for season 3 due to the SAG-AFTRA and Writers Guild strikes delaying production.

Moreover, Max announced in December that the franchise would return in 2025 in a promotional clip for several of its series.

Despite the current uncertainty surrounding the full cast, likely, Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw), Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbes), and Kristin Davis (Charlotte York Goldenblatt) will all return for season 3, as the three women serve as executive producers on the series.

After Aidan’s departure, he anticipated being away for several years, while Carrie suggested his return could happen sooner.

This leaves the door open for John Corbett’s potential reappearance in the future.

Seasons 1 and 2 of And Just Like That… are currently streaming on Max.
