Groups like The Boyz, Stray Kids, Red Velvet, and AKMU have not released music for nearly one year, so their fan bases are more than excited to welcome new music and support their favorite artists. Both The Boyz and Stray Kids participated in the Mnet competition show Kingdom: Legendary War, which started in April and ended in June.

Red Velvet has not released music as a group since the end of 2019 with their song “Psycho.” Promotions for the comeback came to a halt after their member Wendy fell off the stage during rehearsals for the annual SBS Gayo Daejeon show. Seulgi and Irene had their sub-unit debut last summer with “Monster” while promoting their b-side “Naughty, as well. Within the past few months, another member, Joy, had her solo debut called “Hello.” Reveluvs, their fandom name, have been waiting for the group to have a comeback as a whole.

K-pop Groups TXT and ASTRO have had recent comebacks within the past five months. In April, ASTRO released their second full-length album, All Yours, with the title track “One”. Before this release, the group had not come out with music for nearly a whole year. Cha Eun Woo was working as a lead on the webtoon-adapted K-Drama True Beauty. Meanwhile, San-ha and Moon Bin had their sub-unit debut with an EP called Bad Idea. ASTRO’s eighth EP will be titled Switch On

TXT, or Tomorrow X Together, has been on a roll since their first album to their new trilogy, The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE. The album is currently the longest-charting 2021 album by a Korean act on Billboard’s Top 200 at five weeks and counting. It has also surpassed 780,000 sales on Gaon, making the album eligible for 3x Platinum Certification. Fans feel that it has not been long enough for the boys to make another appearance. Since promoting the album’s title track, “0X1=LOVESONG,” they have gone on to film a music video and promote their b-side “Magic.” MOAs, TXT’s fandom name, have not gotten enough of the boys for the past few months.

Members Taehyun and Huening Kai revealed news of the comeback on July 15 across HYBE’s social media platform Weverse despite their company not officially posting about it yet. A fan posted saying, “What do you mean a comeback in August? I guess there was a reason behind why Soobin was practicing until late hours yesterday. I’ll look forward to good songs that make us smile while crying.”

Taehyun responded, “I told you we’d come back soon.”

Heunung Kai jumped in after reading a post that said, “The comeback article finally came out! Do you see how excited MOAs are? It’s like a festival here,” by saying, “Of course, let’s all happily enjoy the festival in August!!!”

Release dates about upcoming comebacks are constantly being updated. Follow these artists on their social media accounts to keep up with any exciting news.
