Lil Nas X Drops Music Video for New Smash Hit ‘Industry Baby’

After weeks of teasing fans on social media, Lil Nas X is back with an unforgettable music video for his new hit single “Industry Baby.” With an addicting base beat and solid vocals, the music charts are not ready for the track’s upcoming success.

On July 23, famed singer-songwriter Lil Nas X dropped his latest music video: “Industry Baby.” The clip begins in the same bleak courtroom as the viral trailer video from Monday.

The two-minute-long teaser parodies the star’s recent legal battle with Nike about his popular, blood-infused kicks. However, the skit takes a sour turn away from the Satan Shoes to focus on the Grammy artist’s sexuality. 

“Do yo momma know you gay?” Lil Nas X questions as the prosecutor.

Defendant Lil Nas X replies with a “yes” as the trailer comes to a close. Here, the music video for “Industry Baby” picks up with the idol being sentenced to “five years in Montero State Prison.”

The music video continues, featuring a confident Lil Nas X flexing his well-deserved achievements and embracing his place as part of the LGBTQIA+ community. Switching from a neon-pink prison uniform to his birthday suit, Lil Nas X continues to show the world that he is not afraid to be himself and test his limits.

“I told you long ago on the road / I got what they waiting for / I don’t run from nothing, dog / Get your soldiers, tell ‘em I ain’t layin’ low,” Lil Nas X chants proudly in the chorus. “You was never really rooting for me anyway (Ah, ooh) / When I’m back at the top, I wanna hear you say (Ah, ooh).”

Unexpectedly, rapper Jack Harlow makes a special appearance with a full, flashy verse. The artists unite for a few scenes, adding some extra flair to the film.

Finally escaping Montero State Prison (on top of a massive transportation bus), “Industry Baby” comes to a powerfully unique end.

“Yeah / I’m the industry baby / I’m the industry baby / Yeah,” the “Sun Goes Down” singer repeats in the song’s outro.

Lil Nas X is making quite the name for himself by constantly releasing impressive music. However, time can only tell how far “Industry Baby” is going to go. In the meantime, fans prepare for the performer’s first, full-length debut record, MONTERO: THE ALBUM.
