‘House of Gucci’ Unveils New Trailer and Posters

MGM

Ridley Scott’s House of Gucci has unveiled a surprise new trailer and colorful promotional posters ahead of the film’s theater release this Thanksgiving. Scott has tapped none other than Lady Gaga to play Patrizia Reggiani and Adam Driver as Maurizio Gucci, Reggiani’s fashion mogul ex-husband. The crime drama film will follow Gaga’s character and her subsequent downfall as she plotted the murder of her ex in 1995.

Gaga revealed that House of Gucci had something up its sleeve when she simply tweeted on October 27, “Something new tomorrow.” She ends the post with the phrase, “sogni d’oro,” which is Italian for “sweet dreams.”

This would be a helpful hint for fans just one day later, on October 28. MGM Studios released a surprise second trailer, which is fittingly soundtracked to “Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This),” the hit 1983 song by Annie Lennox, Dave Stewart, and Eurythmics. In an interview with NBC, Lennox reveals that “Sweet Dreams” is about “the existential nature of the human condition.” This is a clever song choice to soundtrack the trailer, as The Gucci Family had everything they could have wanted, yet Patrizia wanted more.

The second trailer follows Patrizia’s (Gaga) dangerous plot to kill her ex-husband, Maurizio. Patrizia played a dangerous game, and Gaga writes on social media that “Patrizia always gets what she wants.” The singer-turned-actress also shared a stunning red poster that reads, “Academy Award Winner Lady Gaga is Patrizia Reggiani.”

Other epic posters feature Adam Driver in a navy blue background as Maurizio Gucci. Jared Leto as Paolo Gucci, Jeremy Irons as Rodolfo Gucci, and veteran actor Al Pacino as Aldo Gucci.
