Artist Kid Cudi teased the upcoming Amazon Prime documentary A Man Named Scott via social media and fans are getting excited. The film, directed by Robert Alexander will be available on November 5.

A Man Named Scott highlights Kid Cudi’s influence since his first album, A Man on the Moon: The End of Day released in 2009. He has since released seven additional albums and brought home Grammy and Emmy awards in the process.

The third part to his debut album, Man on the Moon III: The Chosen dropped in 2020. That same year, Kid Cudi appeared as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live and held a starring role in the HBO series We Are Who We Are. So it’s safe to say the rapper/singer/songwriter/actor has made a name for himself throughout his career.

Mental health, drug use, and relationships are among the topics covered in the documentary. Kid Cudi’s early songs such as “Pursuit of Happiness” and “Day ‘N Night” reflect this along with newer music like “Dive.”

“Everything I make has to help people in some way,” Kid Cudi shares in the trailer. “How can I make something that calls out to the broken and the lost.”

The documentary tells a story through interviews with friends, producers, and collaborators. With the help of concert footage, personal videos, and behind-the-scenes content, A Man Named Scott depicts Kid Cudi like never before.

“He connected with audience and kids that had never had an artist connect with them,” an interviewee can be heard saying in the trailer.

But this isn’t the only project we’re getting from Kid Cudi in the near future. In September he teased an upcoming album, EnterGalactic, which is set to become an animated Netflix series in 2022.

Check out the trailer above and get ready to peer into the life of the profound artist’s life. Fans can stream the documentary on Amazon Prime on November 5. Oh, and if you’re wondering, the film’s title comes from Kid Cudi’s real name: Scott Mescudi.
