After sharing a number of memes roasting the lengthy scene on his Instagram story, the 26-year-old singer-songwriter posted a photo of himself stating, “The internet remains undefeated, I am humbled.” Not only that, Fike also uploaded a video of professional boxer Adrien Broner admitting, “I ain’t gonna lie, I’m getting cooked,” and then added the caption, “This really how I woke up.”

To be clear, it wasn’t Elliot’s song Euphoria fans disliked; it was the fact that there were more important issues to address. From the Maddy and Cassie fiasco to Rue’s drug suitcase dilemma to the fate of Fezco and Ashtray, people didn’t understand why a mini impromptu concert was necessary.

With Euphoria season 3 set to debut in 2024, fan backlash over the song’s runtime is understandable. In this season’s final 59 minutes, viewers wanted answers. While a few major loose ends were tied up (ahem, Cal Jacobs), many were left feeling unsatisfied with the way things were left.

And the idea of waiting two more years for closure certainly doesn’t help.
