ABC’s Abbott Elementary Returns for a New School Year
ABC comedy Abbott Elementary was renewed for a second season, meaning we can see our favorite kindergarten teachers back in action for a new school year.
The news of the season renewal was made through a cheeky memo on Instagram that only Principle Coleman (Janelle James) can make. The message reads, “Faculty and Students (aka My Fans), The camera crew I hired to showcase all that I’ve made happen at our beautiful school thinks I’m a star. I mean, are we surprised? No, we’re not :)”

Principle Coleman adds, “With that said, it is with great pleasure that I share they’ll be returning for the 2022-2023 school year! That’s right – Abbott Elementary Season Two is coming to a screen near you. Despite my being a natural in front of the camera, these things don’t come for free, and my staff is having trouble seeing all of my unleashed potential! Something about needing supplies? Anywho, I could use your help getting them (Janine) off my back.”

The memo also includes an invitation for fans to help teachers and students, “If you are interested in supporting them and our community of young mind shapers, please visit DonorChoose.Org.” DonorChoose is an organization that supplies teachers and students with classroom essentials.

The post ends on a comedic note with her stating, “I also welcome spa credits and gift cards over $100 on the heels of this thrilling announcement. I also have all major money transfer apps if you wanna go that route.”
Abbott Elementary stars Quinta Brunson (Janine Teagues), Tyler James Williams (Gregory Eddie), Janelle James (Ava Coleman), Chris Perfetti (Jacob Hill), Lisa Ann Walter (Melissa Schemmenti), and Sheryl Lee Ralph (Barbara Howard). Brunson also serves as a writer and producer for the series alongside Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker.
