Nicola Coughlan Looks Regal as the Muse for Pat McGrath’s New Bridgerton II Collection
Some started watching Bridgerton for the whirlwind of drama and romance. But, if the Regency era aesthetic pulled you in, forget true love, Pat McGrath’s new Bridgerton II collection is your perfect companion. McGrath knows a thing or two about royalty. The makeup artist created an empire—Pat McGrath Labs—chock full of buttery eyeshadows and luxe lipsticks. So, when she announced a Bridgerton collaboration with Netflix back in December, it just made sense. Less than two weeks before season two, McGrath unveiled a romantic sequel to her limited-edition collab. With the Lady Whistledown (Nicola Coughlan) seal of approval, it might be the best yet.
On March 14, McGrath unveiled the beautiful Nicola Coughlan as her newest #McGrathMuse in an Instagram post. The caption reads, “The instantly iconic beauty and alluring actress @nicolacoughlan has stolen our hearts as Penelope Featherington, aka Lady Whistledown, of the @Shondaland & @Netflix hit series “Bridgerton”…and I’m thrilled to introduce her as my new #McGrathMuse and the fabulous face of PAT McGRATH LABS x BRIDGERTON II.”
The second Bridgerton drop has the same opulent packaging, but in blush pink instead of powder blue. Typically, the MTHRSHP palettes are the talk of the town, and the Belle of the Ball Eye Palette ($65) is no exception. It has six strikingly pigmented shadows, ranging from vibrant pinks and plums to a royal gold and a metallic blue shimmer. However, the Blushing Delights quartet ($60) is stealing MTHRSHP’s spotlight. The keepsake box looks like it holds sweets, but inside are three pearly blushes and a heart-shaped champagne highlighter.
Also joining the collection are seven (yes, seven) SatinAllure Lipsticks. The lipsticks, as always for Pat McGrath Labs, are seductively smooth. It’s no surprise Coughlan adores them. The actress told Vogue UK, “Many nude lipsticks wash me out – but this is so creamy and soft. It’s lipstick perfection!” To top it off, the lippies are adorned with a gold bow.
The collection will also have two shades of the Skintillating Diamond Body Shimmer ($52) for an all-over glow and the Legendary Wear Velvet Kohl Eyeliner ($28).
As if Mother McGrath couldn’t be any more chic, Barbie honored her genius with their Barbie Role Model collection. Bridgerton producer Shonda Rhimes also joined the empowering lineup in celebration of International Women’s Day.
