Bridgerton Hints At New Central Couple For Season 2
Netflix just released a sneak peek of the highly anticipated upcoming season of Netflix’s original series, Bridgerton.

According to Variety, “Season 2 of Bridgerton tells the story of Lord Anthony Bridgerton’s (Jonathan Bailey) quest for love as he sets out to find a suitable wife. When Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) and her younger sister Edwina (Charithra Chandran) arrive from India, Anthony starts to court the latter sister — and Kate soon discovers that his intentions for marriage are not pure.”
Executive producers of the series include Betsy Beers and Shonda Rhimes. Rhimes gave a slight tease on what might also happen in the new season of Bridgerton, in an interview with Variety. She stated, “I think there’s a powerful, interesting, romantic couple at the heart of it. They’re an incredibly interesting and exciting pair. I like to watch them…Our goal, if we do our job correctly, is you are going to be as invested and excited by that couple as you were by the couple of Season 1.”

With the news of Rege-Jean Page (Simon Basset) not returning in Season 2, fans are wondering if Anthony and Kate’s romance will have the same passion as Daphne Bridgerton and Duke Simon, who were last season’s central couple.

Expect there to be new faces in the new season including actors Shelley Conn and Calam Lynch were just added. Liar actor, Conn is set to play the character, Mary Sharma. Benediction actor, Calam Lynch will play the character Theo Sharpe, a working-class man with a job as a printer’s assistant and an activist who advocates for the rights of all.
The new season of Bridgerton is expected to be released on March 25, on Netflix.
