Japanese Breakfast, the indie-pop band fronted by Michelle Zauner, continues to shine in its musical endeavors. In addition to that musical accolade, she released an EP for Spotify, the Sable video game soundtrack, and embarked on a North American tour promoting Jubilee. She recently announced a second round of touring to celebrate her third studio album. Zauner is also the author of the New York Times best-selling memoir, Crying In H Mart.

After SNL unveiled the photo for the finale, Zauner took to Twitter to write, “Help!!!!!!!!” For fans of the indie scene and Japanese Breakfast’s work, this recognition is so well-deserved. She has been making music for 10 years now and is currently three albums into her career.

In an interview with Variety, Zauner candidly spoke about her band’s success and Grammy nominations. She expresses, “I think that we definitely had a major breakthrough year, and I feel like I’ve been a growing artist in the indie sphere for some time now. I’ve played music for 10 years but I think it sometimes takes that long to get to this place.”

We cannot wait to see Japanese Breakfast perform on Saturday Night Live. The show will undoubtedly go out with a powerful bang. Fans can secure tickets to Jubilee round two by visiting their website.
