Kid Cudi Will Take You Entergalactic With His New Netflix Animated Series

Today, Netflix announced at the Annecy International Film Festival that the Animation Showcase, Entergalactic will premiere on Friday, September 30 on Netflix. Entergalactic is an animated love story produced by Kenya Barris and Scott Mescudi, also known as the stage name ‘Kid Cudi’, who also stars.

Here’s the official synopsis from Netflix Life: “Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi and Kenya Barris join forces to present Entergalactic, an original, animated story about a young artist named Jabari – voiced by Mescudi – as he attempts to balance love and success. Finding the latter brings Jabari a step closer to the former, when moving into his dream apartment introduces him to his new neighbor, photographer it-girl, Meadow – voiced by Jessica Williams. An explosion of art, music, and fashion, Entergalactic takes place in the only city that can handle all three: New York.” Timothée Chalamet will voice Jimmy, Jabari’s best friend, who is also a weed dealer and ironically, a conspiracy theorist. 

Joining Mescudi, Jessica Williams, and Timothée Chalamet, Entergalactic features an A-list voice cast including Ty Dolla $ign, Laura Harrier, Vanessa Hudgens, Christopher Abbott, 070 Shake, Jaden Smith, Keith David, Teyana Taylor, Arturo Castro, and Macaulay Culkin.

The animated series is directed by Fletcher Moules and written by Ian Edelman and Maurice Williams. It is executive produced by Karina Manashil and Dennis Cummings (Mad Solar Productions), Fletcher Moules, Ian Edelman (Edelgang), and Maurice Williams along with Barris and Mescudi. The series is animated by DNEG studio. 

Kid Cudi has shared a preview of his Entergalactic album with the song “Do What I Want”. After the release of the teaser of Entergalactic series, Kid Cudi tweeted, “Do What I Want was the first song I did w Day Trip and I locked in w them heavy shortly after to make MOTM3. Im really happy ull finally get to hear it.”
