My Policeman, the Amazon Studios film, will premiere at the forty-seventh edition of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The festival is the film’s first stop before its drop in theaters on October 21. TIFF aims to transform the way people see the world through film.

Directed by Grandage and with a script adapted from Bethan Roberts’ 2012 romance novel, My Policeman explores a queer love story in 1957 Brighton, England. Based on the book with the same title, the film illustrates a heartbreaking love triangle where Tom (Styles) falls in love with the curator Patrick (Dawson) but due to the homophobic era, he decides to date a female schoolteacher named Marion (Corrin). Tom decides to have a secret affair with Patrick, which makes both relationships complicated. The movie explores emotions such as liberty, regret, and forgiveness.
