New Must-See Releases Coming to Netflix in August

From Netflix Originals to all-time-favorite movies and series, the streaming platform is bringing us tons of new content this month.

Netflix is one of the first big streaming platforms. With a cheap monthly subscription price and an easy-to-use, ad-free site, Netflix has gained millions of subscribers in the years it’s been around.

In more recent years multiple new streaming platforms have entered the game, creating a competition that has coined the term “streaming wars.” Hulu, Disney+, Paramount+, and Apple TV are just a few on the list. These sites are continuously gaining popularity, which has been especially heightened amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Amongst these newer platforms, Netflix has mostly remained true to its original design. There are now three subscription plans offered: Basic ($9.99/month), Standard ($15.99/month), and Premium ($19.99/month). With most other streaming services, different subscription plans mean different access. In other words, the less you pay, the less content you receive (and, in some cases, the more ads you get). All three of Netflix’s subscription plans offer unlimited access to its content, the only differences being in resolution and in the number of profiles that can be used at the same time.

The convenience of Netflix contributes to its success, but that success wouldn’t exist without refreshing its content. Offering both Netflix originals and outside films, series, documentaries, and more, the service is always updating its content list for subscribers. Here is what Netflix is bringing us this month.
