The New Creed III Trailer is Here

Warner Bros. Pictures

Micheal B. Jordan is once again gracing our screens with the newest installment to the Creed franchise, Creed III, and fans couldn’t be more excited.

The trailer for the upcoming film has arrived. Black Panther star Micheal B. Jordan reprises his role as Adonis Creed, who will face off against Damian Anderson, portrayed by Lovecraft Country’s star, Johnathan Majors. Florian Munteanu will return as Viktor Drago, and Phylicia Rashad as Mary Anne Creed. Joining the cast will be Tessa Thompson (Thor: Love and Thunder) and Wood Harris (The Wire). Fans of the Rocky films are sad that Sylvester Stallone is passing the torch to Jordan, as he will not return as Rocky in Creed III.

The trailer shows Adonis Creed, son of Apollo Creed, attempting to help his old friend and former boxing prodigy, Damian Anderson. Anderson is embarking on a journey to prove his worth in the ring after spending 18 years in prison. In an unexpected chain of events, Anderson challenges his childhood friend turned enemy, Creed, who has had tremendous success in the boxing world, to a fight. However, this battle is deeper than boxing. Faced with yet another formidable obstacle, Creed must face his past and let go of guilt to beat his opponent.

The film will be Micheal B. Jordan’s directorial debut. In a virtual presentation moderated by Kelly L. Carter, senior Entertainment Reporter for ESPN’s Andscape, Jordan explained his decision to take on this new role as a director, “I finally got to this place in my career where I wanted to tell a story and not just be in front of the camera, not just execute somebody else’s vision.”

He continues, “It was the most challenging thing that I’ve ever done so far by, by far, just daily pushing myself to new limits learning how to communicate and really get what’s in your head and have other people pick up on that passion, on that enthusiasm and want to execute your vision to the best of their ability.”
