Taylor Swift is the iHeartRadio Innovator Award Recipient
On March 27, Taylor Swift will receive the 2023 iHeartRadio Innovator Award at the organization’s annual ceremonious event.
The 33-year-old singer/songwriter will soon be able to add another award to her already long list of accolades. On March 7, IHeartMedia announced that Swift will receive their highly esteemed Innovator Award at their next annual ceremony. The purpose of this award is to honor musical artists who have impacted global pop culture. Past recipients of the award include U2, Pharrell, and Alicia Keys.

IHeartMedia recently put out a statement explaining their decision. They reported, “Taylor Swift has created music that for years has topped the charts at multiple formats, while creating groundbreaking tours.” They touched on the artist’s activism and philanthropic work, “She’s an advocate for women’s rights and the LGBTQ+ community, using her music and platform to inspire young people to use their voting power.” Concluding their statement, they cited her decision to re-record her first six albums, “Taylor began to re-record her first six albums, taking control of her music after her masters were sold by her former label.”
Swifties expectedly took to social media to express their excitement for their favorite artist.

Since the beginning of the year, the 14-iHeartRadio-award-winning artist has maintained a relatively low profile. However, this does not mean she has not received her share of awards and honors. Her most notable recent public appearance was at the 2023 Grammy Awards, where she won Best Music Video for her “All Too Well” short film. This past February, the International Federation of Phonographic Industry (IFPI) named her their Global Recording Artist of the Year for 2022.
I can’t put into words what this means to me. For the @RecordingAcad and my peers to acknowledge me as a director, and in doing so, acknowledge my work to try and reclaim my music… I’m blown away. Thank you to all the fans who willed this to happen. https://t.co/nVoR1myP1f

Swift already seems unstoppable this 2023. Later this year, the “Anti-Hero” singer will kick off her new tour on March 17. The Eras Tour will take place in stadiums across the country and celebrate each of Swift’s albums/musical “eras.” The anticipation and demand for the tour have been unmatched. Many predict it will be her best tour yet, but what else would we expect from one of the music industry’s innovators?
