A raunchy comedy is not for everyone, but they are certainly attention-grabbing, giving audiences an hour of mindless and shocking hilarity.

No Hard Feelings follows Maddie who just broke up with her boyfriend and is running low on money. What’s worse is that she is an Uber driver without a car.

However, Maddie ends up answering a Craigslist ad to date a couple’s son in exchange for a car. Running out of options, she takes this deal. As easy as it might sound, things change when she meets the shy 19-year-old Percy.

While trying to date a socially awkward teenager is challenging, Maddie and Percy begin to build a friendship.

The trailer begins with Maddie in a tight red dress asking Percy if she could touch his “wiener.” The camera pans over to him holding a wiener dog, clarifying that she wants to pet the wiener dog. That scene alone immediately sets the tone for the trailer.

The next couple of scenes reveals how different these two characters are and how their clashing personalities lead to wacky situations. Although there are a lot of hilarious jokes in the trailer, there is also a lot of heart. No Hard Feelings will certainly give audiences lots of laughs, but there will also be sweet heartfelt moments between the protagonists.

Starring alongside Lawrence and Feldman, the film features Matthew Broderick (Rick and Morty), Laura Benanti (Gossip Girl), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Andor), Natalie Morales (Harley Quinn), and more. No Hard Feelings was written and directed by Gene Stupinski, a master of raunchy comedies. He recently wrote and directed the hit film Good Boys and write movies such as Bad Teacher and Year One. In addition, he wrote and directed some episodes of the popular sitcom, The Office.

The original announcement of No Hard Feelings was in October 2021, and Stupinski began filming in September 2022.

No Hard Feelings does not appear to be Lawrence’s typical film role. While she has showcased some comedic chops in the political satire Don’t Look Up (2021), she has mostly done dramatic and serious films.

Lawrence has proven she can handle intense and emotional roles from The Hunger Games franchise, Mother, Red Sparrow, and her classic Silver Linings Playbook film. Most recently, Lawrence starred in Causeway, a drama about a traumatized soldier returning home from war, which earned her co-star Bryan Tyree Henry an Oscar nomination.

Her upcoming comedic film will reveal to audiences a new side to Lawrence’s hilarious acting talents.

Feldman got his start in the theater world. He was in the Broadway production of Dear Evan Hansen as the lead role, Evan Hansen. Feldman was only 16 years old when he began the role but had achieved widespread critical acclaim.

During the pandemic, Feldman also starred in the TikTok meme musical Ratatouille the Musical as Alfredo Linguini, which introduced him to a teen audience. In addition, he had the recurring role of French foreign exchange student, Antoine, in season 2 of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. He will also be in the upcoming Netflix rom-com A Tourist’s Guide to Love, which will release on April 27. Feldman may only be 20, but he has an impressive résumé that will keep growing.

No Hard Feelings is an attention-grabbing film, which is clear from the trailer. However, the film has tried some unconventional methods for advertising. Through billboards, signs, and Reddit ads, the film has released advertisements with the headline, “NEED A CAR? DATE OUR SON”. Along with a picture of the car, there is a brief description of the parent’s request and an email address that people can contact.

This advertisement has been turning heads left and right. What’s even more hilarious is that the advertisements don’t even have the title of the film. As a result, people have been taking these advertisements seriously. One thing is for sure, the concept of this film is certainly intriguing.

With films like American PieBridesmaids, and Superbad, raunchy comedies hit their stride in the mid-2000s. While some popular movies in the genre have come out in recent years, there has yet to be that much attention given to this category of films. With the all-star talent in this film and the fun trailer, No Hard Feelings may be the big summer film to bring back the genre. The film will hit theaters on June 23. Watch the trailer down below.
