On March 28, there was an announcement that Jungkook has become a global brand ambassador for Calvin Klein alongside their new collection. This role makes him a public representative and face for the brand.

As their new brand ambassador, Jungkook’s job is to sell the brand. So what better way to sell than a photoshoot? Shot by photographer Park Jong Ha, Jungkook models Calvin Klein’s fabulous clothes and his striking physique.

A lot of fashion this season has been based on nostalgia and throwbacks. Calvin Klein is no exception to this trend. This spring, Calvin Klein showcased their ’90s-style denim outfits from jackets to jeans. The outfits have a relaxed and casual feel while still looking very put together and stylish. Calvin Klein is being playful with their new collection while also being mature.

Jungkook’s photoshoot was in black and white, but his style and body fully came across. One photo revealed him in dark wash jeans with a matching unbuttoned denim jacket. While he has no shirt underneath, it still has the makings of a complete outfit.

Another photo showcases the singer in a white Calvin Klein logo graphic t-shirt, with a light wash button-down shirt over it and faded jeans on the bottom.

The release of the photoshoot also came with a video. The video is 30 seconds long and captures the essence of the photography. The promo is set to Zayde Wølf’s “Kings,” emphasizing the lyric “It’s good to be king.”

The clip features Jungkook moving around in many of the outfits he is modeling. He is doing everything from twirling, relaxing on a leather couch, and lifting his arms up to running, displaying the flexibility of the outfits. Much like the photoshoot, the video is in black and white, but the energy leaps off the screen.

Jungkook is excited about this new opportunity. “I have been a fan of Calvin Klein for a long time, and I’m thrilled to be their newest global ambassador. This partnership is very special, as Calvin Klein’s heritage and brand values resonate with me,” Jungkook remarked. He continued praising this opportunity, “My music is how I communicate with my fans around the world, and I see this partnership as an opportunity to connect with them in a new way. I’m incredibly excited for people to see a new side of me in this first campaign for the brand.”

Jonathan Bottomley, Calvin Klein’s Chief Marketing Officer, is also really pleased that Jungkook is joining the Calvin Klein brand family.

“We pride ourselves on identifying globally relevant talent whose cultural impact and values align with our own,” Bottomley exclaimed. He is looking forward to this direction for the brand, as he believes “Jungkook is one of the world’s most popular artists; he possesses a rare ability to connect with international audiences through both his music and his style. We’re fortunate and excited to have him join the Calvin Klein team.”

In June 2022, BTS announced that they were going on hiatus. This was so the band could pursue solo projects, and so that two of their members, Jin and J-Hope, can fulfill South Korea’s mandatory military enlistment.

As a result, Jungkook has spent time working on many music solo opportunities. For last year’s World Cup, he performed his song “Dreamers” at the opening ceremony and it was also featured on the tournament’s soundtrack. In addition, late last year, he collaborated with Charlie Puth on the song “Left & Right,” which made it to number 22 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Calvin Klein was founded over 50 years ago by its namesake, and the brand has taken the world by storm since then. It is a billion-dollar company on the cutting edge of fashion. It has seen many famous ambassadors in its long history, including Mark Wahlberg, Zoe Saldana, Diane Kruger, and more. Jungkook is not Calvin Klein’s first ambassador this year. He joins Michael B. Jordan, Kendall Jenner, Aaron Taylor Johnson, and BLACKPINK’s Jennie.

Jungkook is not the only member of BTS to be a brand ambassador. Earlier this year, fellow member Jimin became a brand ambassador for Dior. After that, Suga became a brand ambassador for Valentino as a part of their ambassador group DI.VA. Recently, there was an announcement that J-Hope is a new brand ambassador for Louis Vuitton. The band also had brand partnerships as a group. Those include group collaborations with Louis Vuitton and Dior.

Jungkook is the newest of the BTS fashion icons, and this photoshoot shows that he will certainly leave his mark.
