Ryan Gosling Is Handed the Microphone in New Barbie Movie
In anticipation of the upcoming premiere of Barbie, Ryan Gosling was given his own spotlight and microphone to give some vocals for the film in the song, “I’m Just Ken.”
New music, posters, stills, and trailers for Barbie have dropped week after week in anticipation of the film’s release. Recently, a snippet from the movie revealed Gosling will be performing a song in the movie titled “I’m Just Ken” as the iconic male Barbie figure.
From the song’s preview, Ken is seen struggling to catch the attention of Barbie (Margot Robbie) and express his feelings.
The ballad reveals how Ken feels about always finding himself in second place in Barbie’s eyes. He contemplates his life without Barbie and who he is without her.
The film’s Twitter account posted the snippet on July 10 with “Ken-ergy,” a term Gosling coined as he prepared for his role.

“I’m Just Ken” was written by Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt, and features Slash, the lead guitarist for Guns N’ Roses.
In Ronson’s Twitter post, he referred to Gosling as a “MONSTER VOCAL TALENT.” Gosling’s prior musical experience includes songs from the Blue Valentine soundtrack and the movie-musical La La Land, for which he was nominated for Best Actor.

Fans have had nothing but positive reviews for this latest addition to the Barbie soundtrack. Excitement for the film continues to grow, and the public has been raving about Gosling’s “Ken-ergy.”
His vocals in the movie have only increased the fans’ love for his role, marking them impressed. It seems Gosling as Ken can do no wrong.
