Following the recent feud with her fans, Doja Cat lost over 500K followers on Instagram. Despite the setback, she became the female rapper with the highest monthly listeners on Spotify.
With over 66.2 million listens per month, she surpassed Nicki Minaj’s average of 61.6 million, Cardi B(33 million), and Megan ThEe Stallion (24 million). Currently, Doja Cat is the number one highest-listened female rapper on the streaming platform.
Furthermore, the 27-year-old singer displayed relief at the drop in her follower count. Her fan pages quickly started deactivating; people went as far as trying to boycott her music. Doja Cat shared on Instagram that losing followers feels like she has defeated a “large beast that has been holding me down for so long.”
