The 2023 Academy Museum Gala honors Hollywood icons Meryl Streep, Michael B. Jordan, Oprah Winfrey, and Sofia Coppola for their contributions, past and present.
The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures held its third annual gala on December 3. The extravagant event on Sunday night not only honored but raised over $10 million to support the museum’s exhibition, education, initiatives, and public programming, including screenings and K-12 programs that service the general public and local communities in Los Angeles.
Hollywood’s Glamours Night also celebrated the museum’s second anniversary and featured some of the most remarkable actors, filmmakers, and industry executives, including members of the event host committee.
The Academy Museum Gala originally planned to have the event on October 14. However, due to ongoing attacks in Israel-Hamas, the Academy moved the date to December, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Angela Bassett, Greta Gerwig, Greta Lee, John Legend, Jurnee Smollett, Keke Palmer, Leonardo DiCaprio, Lupita Nyong’o, Selena Gomez, Taraji P. Henson, Tracee Ellis Ross, Zoe Kravitz, and more showed support for the museum, and grace the carpet with their best fashion.
