Netflix shared the new Damsel poster starring Millie Bobby Brown, which is set to hit the streaming service in 2024.

Netflix wants fans to keep an eye on Millie Bobby Brown, as the film will premiere on March 8. The streaming platform announced the upcoming fantasy film on X. The newest poster showcased a close-up of the Stranger Things actress’ eye and a dragon that reflects.

The plot centers around a young girl named Princess Elodie (Millie Bobby Brown), who marries the prince of a rival nation. However, she discovers that the marriage is a setup and all a part of a tradition. The tradition involves young Elodie as she gets sacrificed to a fire-breathing dragon. She then finds herself in survival mode, fighting back.

Damsel is directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo and written by Dan Mazeau. The film also stars Angela Bassett, Robin Wright, Ray Winstone, Nick Robinson, Brooke Carter, and Shohreh Aghdashloo.

The Film’s director expressed, “What I really loved in the script from Dan Mazeau was embracing the idea of a fantasy adventure and a princess and dragon story, but taking into a place where it’s completely upside down.”

Fresnadillo further explained that the film was an “intense journey” but enjoyed the process of designing and developing. Sharing that, “This is such a beautiful story about a young woman becoming strong, independent, and empowered adult. Elodie doesn’t have any kind of support. It’s a real survival experience,” he stated.

Additionally, Fresnadillo shared that the casting of Brown revealed her charisma and her “sparkling personality” while on set. “She has that quality that only stars have,” he stated. He further shares her ability to take an audience into “her journey” when making the film and that one can not take their eyes off her.
