The film centers around marketing manager Kelly Jones (Johansson) and NASA launch director Cole Davis (Tatum). Set during the 1969 space race, Davis is working on the launch of the ship. After the President deems the mission too important to fail, NASA hires Jones to film a fake moon landing if the real mission fails.

The film was previously titled Project Artemis, but the title was changed in April, according to Variety. Moreover, the cast also includes Woody Harrelson, Anna Garcia, Jim Rash, Ray Romano, and more. Chris Evans originally portrayed Tatum’s role, but schedule conflicts with Netflix’s Pain Hustlers left him unable to film for this project.

In the trailer, Jones and Davis meet at a diner. Jones is sitting at a table reading when Davis walks up and tells her the book is on fire. He puts it out and they introduce themselves. The scene cuts to Davis in NASA headquarters struggling with the preparations for the launch. Jones is hired to fake the landing, and when Davis asks what she is doing there, she jokingly tells him she tracked him there. The trailer progresses in illustrating the development of the real launch, the fake launch, and the blossoming relationship between Davis and Jones.
