Be careful who you assemble in the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Florence Pugh returns in her portrayal of Yelena Belova, also known as Black Widow’s sister. This time around, Belova is a depressed assassin after the events of Black Widow and Hawkeye. Desperate to distract herself from facing loss and grief, the anti-hero has put herself to work. Carrying out numerous contracts and hand-to-hand combat against foes, Belova calls on an old friend for help facing the music and the darkness that follows.

As seen in the trailer, Belova knocks on none other than the Red Guardian’s door, portrayed by David Harbour. After mistaking her for DoorDash after her repeatedly attempts at knocking, he finally hears her voice and welcomes her in. Their conversation leads to her uniting the least anticipated band of misfits, but with some familiar faces.

The returning cast includes Wyatt Russell as John Walker, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. The returning cast will also include a beloved fan-favorite character as well, Bucky Barnes. Portrayed by Sebastian Stan, he will be donning his long hair and bionic arm once again in the upcoming film.

In addition to the first teaser trailer being released, Marvel Studios also released the film’s first poster. Featured in the poster are Bucky, Ghost, Red Guardian, and Taskmaster. In the middle of the chaos is Belova, who seems very peeved of all the craziness around her. Although there are witty comebacks in the trailer, the group of misfits must band together for a common cause: the same enemy. As Belova emphasizes in the trailer, someone is out to eliminate each member of the Thunderbolts and is not stopping.

Will the Thunderbolts put aside their differences to defeat a common enemy in time, or succumb to an untimely demise? Find out more when Thunderbolts officially releases in theaters on May 2, 2025. Until then, watch the full teaser trailer down below.
