Netflix has added the star-studded new Shondaland series, The Residence, to its ever-growing lineup.

The Residence is a fun murder mystery by the legendary Shonda Rhymes’ production company, Shondaland, which has created iconic series such as Bridgerton, Grey’s Anatomy, and Scandal.

The series is set in the White House and involves a murder mystery that only the intelligent and seemingly aloof bird-enthusiast detective Cordelia Cupp, portrayed by Uzo Aduba, known for her past role as the iconic “Crazy Eyes” in Orange is the New Black, can solve.

The murder, which happened on the same night as an American and Australian relations State Dinner, put more than a hundred White House guests on lockdown. Detective Cupp is tasked with solving the murder of the White House Chief Usher AB Wynter, portrayed by Giancarlo Esposito, known for his role as Gus in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.

The dramedy series is similar to murder mysteries like Clue and Knives Out, of which the sequel was a Netflix original film, Glass Onion, and the third episode of the series was named after.

The Netflix original series is eight bingeable episodes of entertaining twists and turns as Detective Cupp and FBI agent Edwin Park, portrayed by Randall Park, known for his role as Louis Huang on Fresh Off the Boat, narrow down their suspect search.

The Residence also features a cameo from Australian national treasure Kylie Minogue as herself.

Audiences online have enjoyed the series too, with one fan writing, “[The Residence] is so good like Netflix really did their big one with this / these are the type of projects they need to over promote like everyone should be watching / talking about it right now.”

Of a potential second season, the creator, Paul William Davies, stated to Deadline, “I love the relationship between Cordelia and Edwin [Randall Park]. There are lots more stories to tell about her adventures and him with her. We’ll see how people feel about the show but I certainly would be lying if I said I hadn’t thought a lot about it and didn’t have a lot of ideas about where it could go.”
