Kehlani Releases Music Video For ‘Honey’

Kehlani is premiering a music video for her single “Honey.”

The singer has been dropping hints about the video on her social media. She’s posted several 15-second clips of the video and some still shots.

The song, “Honey” was released in early October of this year. The seductive acoustic piece was written about Kehlani’s love for a woman. For those of you who may not know, Kehlani is queer. Several of her past songs have been written about women and this is the first that was written in a long time. She started writing songs with this love interest as there weren’t many songs that were this inclusive.

Kehlani elaborates on this more during an interview with MTV. “I thought that my music lacked representation of how my actual life is. I thought it was important to be myself fluidly in my music and not just in my life. My art mimics my life, so you know I have a girlfriend, and it’s only right that that’s what I make music about and that I’m able to put that out confidently.”
