The CW drama will be taking over the time slot that was being used by Superman & Lois. As a result of COVID-19, production has come to a halt and will return to the screen on May 18. Supergirl will then finish airing its final season sometime this upcoming summer. Although the final season does have quite a lot that it needs to cover, the fans are eager to see what exactly is in store for them this upcoming season. After all, season 5 did come to an unexpected ending since it had to be rewritten at the last minute.

Jon Cryer, who portrays Lex Luthor on the show, shared how some parts of the original finale that had been filmed were eventually used with a whole new set of scenes written around them. Cryer continued to explain, “…the way my character was thwarted now doesn’t happen anymore. So, I was like, ‘Oh, did I not get defeated? Wait a minute, I like this!’” This proposes that Luthor will continue to be the antagonist in Supergirl. Despite everything, fans just want to see a great ending to a great series.
Be sure to tune in on Tuesday, March 30 to The CW to watch the final season of Supergirl.
