Britney Spears Will Be Appointed a New Attorney in Conservatorship Case
On Wednesday, July 14, Britney Spears moved a step forward in her conservatorship battle after gaining the ability to hire her own attorney. The 39-year-old American singer also discussed her plans to charge her father, James Parnell Spears, with conservatorship abuse at the Wednesday court hearing.
According to People, the court hearing took place over the phone, where Spears called in to speak with Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny. The singer told the judge, “I’m here to get rid of my dad and charge him with conservatorship abuse,” and continued, “this conservatorship has allowed my dad to ruin my life.”
