Brandi Carlile released her highly anticipated seventh studio album, In These Silent Days, on October 1. The “Right On Time” singer has not shared a new album with fans since 2018’s Grammy-winning hit, By The Way, I Forgive You.

After three long years, fans can undoubtedly forgive Carlile, as she’s done a lot. In 2019, at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards, Carlile had been the most nominated female that year. The singer would win 3 Grammys that night, with “The Joke” winning Best American Roots Song and Performance. Her performance of “The Joke” transported the audience and viewers into another dimension.

In 2019, Carlile would be a co-founder of the all-female country supergroup, The Highwomen. Members of the band include Carlile, Natalie Hemby, Maren Morris, and Amanda Shires. In addition to her all-female supergroup, The “Right On Time” singer would also curate the first-ever all-woman headlining set at the Newport Folk Festival, getting none other than country queen Dolly Parton to make an appearance.

In April 2021, Carlile would accomplish another feat: New York Times Best-Selling Author for her memoir, Broken Horses. Her memoir explores powerful topics such as her upbringing, trauma, religion, sexuality, relationships, and of course, music. In These Silent Days features a song called “Broken Horses,” your quintessential country-rock anthem.

In These Silent Days began its era on July 21, when she released her one and only single, “Right On Time.” In the glam rock video directed by good friend Courteney Cox, the singer pays homage to her hero, Elton John.

In These Silent Days is reminiscent of several heroes of Carlile, ranging from Elton John to Joni Mitchell. Carlile posted a series of billboards to her page, where John, Mitchell, and Dolly Parton praise the singer for her latest record. John calls Carlile “a fantastic force of nature.” Parton poignantly writes, “It’d be a loss for this world if we didn’t have the Brandi Carlile’s.” Mitchell puts it the simplest: “Sounds like a hit.”

Finally, as if Carlile has not reflected enough with memoir and a new record, she writes on Instagram that In These Silent Days is a “love letter to our families and our long time fans- it leaves us on the wings of a spectacular cult of characters.”

Brandi Carlile has done it again, delivering to fans her strongest record to date. To celebrate the release, fans can stream In These Silent Days on all major music platforms such as Spotify.
