Pretty in Pink: Barbie Pink Makes a Comeback in Valentino
The Barbie aesthetic (“Barbiecore”) is back and better than ever! Pink is taking over the world, and following the COVID-19 pandemic, the world could definitely use some brightness. With news of the new Barbie film starring Ryan Gosling, pink is emerging in everything from designer fashion to home Decor.
As the classic Y2K style revamped, so did our love for out-there colors and designs. A punch of color adds life to the things we wear and the spaces we live in. With the return of the Y2K aesthetic comes the bright and bubbly memories of Barbie pink. Personally, I’m all for creating my own real-life Barbie Dream House and slapping on as much pink as I can find.
The Wardrobe
Valentino’s Pink PP Collection is fully embracing the hot pink craze, dedicating an entire line to one shade of color. From the catwalk to the clothes, the images captured for this collection are a monochrome dream. Designs are focused on shapes, styles, and silhouettes to create a world of possibilities, devoid of all color but the signature bold pink.

Clothes aren’t the only way to achieve this Barbie look. Paint your nails, dye a piece of your hair, or get pink makeup. It’s all temporary, and it’s all fun!
The Decor
The pink-obsessed world doesn’t only apply to clothes. People are decorating their lives with the bubbly color, and it looks so fun.
TikTok user @brunabarbieoficial has gained a following through documenting the transformation of her home into a real, life-size Barbie world. She even dyed her swimming pool water!

Obviously, not all of us can completely transform our homes, but there are so many temporary and more accessible ways to create your very own Barbie land. Pink decor is great but not always accessible, so DIY projects will be your best friend. Find any decor you have at home that could use a little bit of paint, or a couch that can be upholstered with a stapler and some fabric and go to town! DIY is especially amazing because you can add your own touch into every project to make it unique. In real life, no two Barbies are exactly alike.

Bring Out Your Inner Barbie
Pink seems to be an all-time favorite right now, and it looks like the trend is here to stay (at least for a while). If you’re loving it too, make your life pink! Because it’s a bright color, it’s definitely a more eye-catching aesthetic. Embrace the stares and be pretty in pink. After all, Barbie’s all about being fabulous.
