Demi Lovato has teased a new music video for her song “Still Alive,” which will be released on all streaming services on Friday, March 3.

The track will be the lead single to Scream VI‘s soundtrack. Lovato released a new teaser on Instagram featuring Mike Shinoda from the rock band, Linkin Park, next to a pool of fake blood. The post also reveals Lovato wearing the classic Ghostface mask from the Scream franchise.

Shinoda not only co-wrote and produced “Still Alive,” but he also has a track that will be in the movie as well. In addition, there is some speculation that Spencer Charnas from the heavy metal band, Ice Nine Kills, will be in the music video.

Lovato has gone through many phases in her career. She delved into pop rock on albums such as Don’t Forget and Here We Go Again. She would then experiment with the pop genre in Unbroken and Confident. However, it is unclear if “Still Alive” will be categorized in the pop or rock genre.

She released her album Holy Fvck in August of last year. The album was heavily inspired by pop punk, which is a genre that has made a comeback in recent years with the success of musicians like Machine Gun Kelly, Meet Me at the Altar, Jxdn, and Huddy. The album was also inspired by hard rock, and it featured collaborations with Yungblud, Royal & the Serpent, and Dead Sara.

Although it was a success with fans, Holy Fvck, generated  a lot of controversies. The album and posters showcased Lovato in a risqué bondage outfit on a crucifix-shaped bed. This imagery was deemed offensive to Christians by the Advertising Standards Authority. As a result, the ASA banned the Universal Music Operations billboard campaign, taking it down on August 23.

However, the album was a hit across the board, gaining recognition from the lead singer of Def Leppard, Joe Elliot. He praised Lovato stating her “riffs are fantastic and her singing is off the f*cking charts!”

“Still Alive” is scheduled to be released a week before Scream VI hits theaters on March 10. Directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, Scream VI will be a direct sequel to last year’s Scream movie. The phenomenal cast includes Courteney Cox (Friends: The Reunion), Jenna Ortega (Wednesday), Hayden Panettiere (Scream 4), Melissa Barrera (In the Heights), Jasmin Savoy Brown (Yellowjackets), and Mason Gooding (Fall).
