New and coming out this November, the poster for the upcoming The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes was just released.

The poster is gold and features roses, a songbird, and a snake, all intertwined.

The poster for each film has consistently proven to be artistically appealing, and this poster is no exception. The teaser posters have featured fire and a Mockingjay each time.

The film, based on the 2020 prequel novel to the Hunger Games book series by Suzanne Collins, will premiere on November 17 of this year. The story serves as an explanation of the notorious President Snow’s teenage years as he mentors Lucy Gray Baird, a tribute from District 12.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes takes place before Snow becomes the evil villain that he is in the four-part film saga. In this film, he’s a high schooler who attends the Hunger Games. He is also attracted to Gray, who is a tribute from District 12 and a glamorous musician.

Francis Lawrence will again direct the film, as he previously did for Catching Fire and Mockingjay. Coriolanus Snow will be portrayed by Tom Blyth, and Lucy Gray will be embodied by Rachel Zegler. The film will also feature Viola Davis as the evil Dr. Volumnia Gaul who works for the Capitol’s experimental weapons division and serves as the Head Gamemaker.

The teaser trailer reveals a bird and a snake breaking through ice and asking the question: who is a songbird, and who is a snake?

The saga has recently gained a lot of attention due to Netflix. In an effort to celebrate the 11th anniversary of The Hunger Games being released, Netflix has the first four films for a limited time on its streaming service. They will be taken off Netflix on March 30.

While this film does not cross over much with the other films, it’s definitely worth a watch. It allows Hunger Games fans to dive deeper into the history of Panem as well as the main villain Snow, who is more complex than we originally thought. Look out for the release in theaters this November.
