Emmy Nominations Dominated by Succession, The Last of Us, The White Lotus and More: See The Full List
Find out which of your favorite actors and television shows have been nominated for an Emmy. HBO Max is shooting for the stars and landing on it, with 3 of the original HBO Max series sweeping the nominations list throughout the 16 presented categories.
For a television show or limited series to be eligible for this year’s awards under any category, it is required for the show to be aired live between June 1, 2022, and May 31, 2023. The National Active members of the Television Academy choose the awards. The final round of votes will be held and counted from August 18 through August 28, determining the winner of the nominees for each category.
Logan Roy would laugh to hear that Succession made a remarkable impact on the nominee list, with the show receiving 27 nominations after its fourth and final season. The acclaimed HBO series attained 14 nominations recognizing the outstanding performances of Brian Cox [Logan Roy], Jeremy Strong [Kendall Roy], Kieran Culkin [Roman Roy], and Sarah Snook [Siobhan “Shiv” Roy].
However, that’s not HBO’s only victory lap. The Last of Us, starring Pedro Pascal [Joel] and Bella Ramsey [Ellie], racks up 24 nominations after its monumental 1st season. Pascal broke out in Hollywood after portraying Oberyn Martell in the fourth season of the popular HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones and playing Javier Peña in the Netflix crime series Narcos.
Additionally, Ramsey is known for their breakout role as noblewoman Lyanna Mormont in Game of Thrones. According to IMBD, “the audience for the series’ first six episodes is now around 30.4M viewers across all platforms.” Outside the U.S., The Last of Us is the most-viewed show in the history of HBO Max in Europe and Latin America.
If two HBO series winning a collective 51 awards wasn’t enough, HBO’s The White Lotus, starring actress Jennifer Coolidge [Tanya McQuoid], received 23 nominations after its second season aired in October 2022.
Transporting to a galaxy far, far away, the Star Wars universe we have all come to know and love is also appreciated by the Television Academy. Disney+ originals Andor, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and The Mandalorian secured 22 total nominations collectively. Apple TV+ original series Ted Lasso, starring Jason Sudeikis, also accomplishes wide Emmy recognition, earning 21 nominations.
