Get ready because Orphan 3 is coming. Orphan First Kill, Director William Brent Bell is currently developing a new installation for fans of the franchise.

The filmmaker, who has seen great reviews of Orphan: First Kill, is gearing up for fans to know that “anything is possible” with this new sequel ahead. Like the previous prequel, the terrifying horror film will have fans at the edge of their seats.”

“We’re developing a third one now. The franchise’s rulebook has opened up to where anything is possible,” he revealed. “And knowing where we are in the process already, I’m extremely excited about the twists and turns that we have in store,” stated Bell.

Meanwhile, Bell took over the franchise by Jaume Collet-Serra, who directed Orphan in 2009. The film follows the story of a young girl named Esther (Isabelle Fuhrman), adopted by a couple who experiences a stillbirth with their third child.

The second film, Orphan First Kill, centered around a 31-year-old psychiatric patient, Leena Klammer (Isabelle Fuhrman), with a rare hormonal disorder called hypopituitarism, which gives her the appearance of a young girl but is much older than she appears.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Bell took a risk by having Fuhrman reprise the role at 23 years old.

“When I first read that script, one of my two things was, “Is it going to have a great twist? And if it does, how do you recast that Isabelle Fuhrman?” He revealed. “And it did have that great twist, so I went, and I met with Isabelle immediately. She really wanted to play the part, and it wasn’t me trying to talk her into doing something bizarre,” he stated.

Bell further explained how Fuhrman’s appearance did not change much and “looks very much like she did as a child,” whereas he would look different if someone were to compare him at “12 and 24,” and realized that Fuhrman could take on the role again.

Although Orphan 3 is in developing stages, the fans won’t have to wait 13 years for the new sequel. Furthermore, fans can watch the first two parts on Amazon Prime here.
