Michael Keaton Comments on the Upcoming Film Beetlejuice 2
In a recent interview, Michael Keaton, the original Beetlejuice revealed he has seen a version of Beetlejuice 2 and “It’s great.”

Tim Burton, Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, and lead actor Michael Keaton are all part of the sequel to the original 1988 version of Beetlejuice. Also, the series got new actors like Jenna Ortega, Monica Bellucci, and Willem Dafoe.
“You can’t compare ‘Beetlejuice’ to anything. It’s like a piece of art,” he told SiriusXM in an interview. “It is just so fun, and I’ve seen it now, I am going to see it again after a couple of little tweaks in the editing room, and I confidently say this thing is great.”

Ortega portrays the main character of this film, who is the daughter of Lydia, Ryder’s character. On the same note, she has worked with director Tim Burton in the past in the highly acclaimed Netflix series Wednesday.
In addition, Keaton and Burton have worked together in a couple of other films, including the fan-favorite Batman(1989) and Batman Returns(1992). They have talked about making a sequel or something similar to Beetlejuice. However, that doesn’t mean Keaton wasn’t pressured to relive such an important character and series.

“There’s just nothing like it. So to do it again was a little, I guess intimidating, I was nervous about it,” he stated.
Catherine O’Hara and Michael Keaton recently had a public reunion at the 96 Academy Awards. They presented the awards for Best Makeup and Hair and Best Production Design and walked onto the stage to the Beetlejuice theme song by Danny Elfman. Moreover, Keaton had a skit with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito since they both portrayed villains in the Batman films.
Winona Ryder during the 80s, was famous for portraying darker and gothic characters like Veronica in Heathers and Kim in Edward Scissorhands. Ortega has a similar trajectory in her career with films like the Scream series and A24’s X. Therefore, fans of Beetlejuice are very excited to see the sequel.
