Britney Spears interviewed Tate McRae for McRae’s V Magazine cover shoot which will be released on June 7.

The rising pop star looks breathtaking on V Magazine’s Summer issue cover. The photographer behind the stunning shoot is Alvaro Beamud Cortes, who has shot campaigns for major editorials including Vogue and GQ.

The “exes” singer’s stylist for this shoot was Nicola Formichetti. He is an award-winning designer, creative director, and stylist who has worked on visual campaigns for the iconic Lady Gaga. The stylist dressed the rising artist in a Dolce and Gabbana jacket and boots, a Selia Richwood Milano bodysuit, and Wolford tights.

As expected, the “you broke me first” singer looked gorgeous. However, the interview between the rising pop star and the legendary Britney Spears took fans by surprise. The “greedy” singer stated, “can’t believe i’m typing this… thank you so much @britneyspears for interviewing me for this cover i’ve looked up to you for years and years i am so grateful.”

The rising pop star idolizes Spears and channels the pop sensation’s performance style during her live concerts. In a TikTok video, a fan states, “Tate McRae is literally the 20’s version of 10’s pop.” Comparatively, a fan remarked, “i’m adding tate to my stan list because that woman can PERFORM.” The 2010s pop heavily influences the current state of the pop music genre. The “Gimme More” singer dominated pop music in the 2010s, and McRae takes inspiration from Spears to dominate today’s pop music.

Within the already-released section of the interview, the two pop stars discuss McRae’s inspirations, the story behind the hit song “you broke me first,” the origin of the rising star’s love for performing, and the hardest part of being an artist.

In response to the sneak peek of the interview, a fan acknowledged the “Oops…I Did It Again” singer’s respectful yet insightful questions. Unfortunately, it is common in the entertainment industry for interviewers to ask women inappropriate questions. However, the pop legend’s lived experience in the music industry prevents this from happening. This interview exemplifies how to ask young female artists questions about themselves in a respectful manner.

As a result of this interview, the “Toxic” singer’s fans find it humorous that she is asking the questions instead of answering the hundreds of inquiries the public still has regarding her well-being after living under a conservatorship for years. One fan jokingly stated the singer pulled an “Uno Reverse card” when asking questions instead of providing answers.

You can listen to Tate McRae’s discography on all major platforms. Britney Spears’s music and merchandise are accessible on her website. While readers await news of the full interview, they can preorder V Magazine’s Summer issue here
