‘Sul Sul’ to Another Year of The Sims
The Sims is one of the most influential games of all time and just turned 25. To celebrate, they held a 25-hour live stream featuring celebrities like Doja Cat, Latto, and more.
The birthday live stream consisted of players from around the world sharing their history with The Sims and all the unique ways they love to play the game.
Trixie and Katya were the first to play, with Trixie sharing how she had created a few fellow drag queens in the game in the past, including Jinx Monsoon and Tammie Brown. The comedy duo had fun making their Sim versions of themselves cause relationship drama and juggle fire.
Afterward, the musician, Latto went on live and shared her history with the game. She stated, “I’ve really been playing Sims since I was ten years old, like, before I even was supposed to be playing Sims. I was downstairs having them ‘WooHoo,’ just grown.”
Later in the stream, Doja Cat appeared dressed for the occasion as The Sims character Betty Newbie, even pairing the outfit with the game’s signature green diamond, a plumbob headband. The Grammy Award-winning singer stated she had started playing the game when she was nine years old and, in true Simmer fashion, immediately set out to start chaos.
“I came up with a cute little concept where I make 15 Bella Goths. Could have been interesting to make maybe 300 of them because, you know, I’m a maximalist, but we are going to be taking 15 of them from two different households, and we are going to make them run amok,” she stated,

She later trapped the 15 Bellas in a small prison without doors and started a fire. Doja Cat shared with the chat, “Look, man, this game is more than just filling houses with ovens and making toast and torturing people. There’s so much more to this game. I think that the most important thing to know is that you can create your own scenarios,your own characters, and your own lifelines and your own experiences on here, and you can really take it wherever you want to take it.”
The 25-hour live stream featuring Doja Cat’s yearning for destruction and Dan and Phil’s questionable architecture was not the end of The Sims’ birthday celebration.
During her time on live, Doja Cat teased a trailer releasing on the official Sims Instagram on February 6. The Sims’ Instagram has also teased an upcoming Kim Petras Simlish version of her song “XXX” on their Story.
