The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced this year’s nominees on Wednesday, with fan voting being open every day until April 21.
The nominee list includes a variety of talented musicians and bands listed below.
Maná
The Mexican rock band’s nomination is the first Spanish-language nominee for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Maná’s Fher Olvera shared in an exclusive interview with Billboard: “We’re four guys who grew up in Mexico listening to rock and roll — The Beatles, The [Rolling] Stones, Queen, Led Zeppelin, The Eagles, Santana. We dreamed of sharing our lyrics and music with the world. We wanted to share the sounds and spirit of Mexico and Latin America. To be nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is almost impossible to imagine. We’re honored and grateful.”
Maná is one of the biggest bands in Mexico and has won several awards for their music, such as four Grammys and six Latin Grammys. They have been beloved in Latin America for decades, especially after the release of their album ¿Dónde Jugarán los Niños? At the time of its release, The Los Angeles Times stated that the album had “sold 3 million copies worldwide, making it the top-selling Spanish-language rock album of all time.”
The band hasn’t forgotten its fans, as noted in their interview with Billboard.
Olvera stated, “We want to share this recognition with all Latinos everywhere, especially the immigrants who are suffering right now. Don’t lose faith. Our people always find a way. Maná loves you. We’ll always be here standing with you.”

This UK band began their international fame with their self-titled debut album in the 70s. Including their debut, Bad Company has had five albums go platinum. The band gave an interview to Billboard on their first-time nomination.
Bad Company’s Simon Kirke shared, “It has rankled me a bit. We’ve been around a long time and we’ve influenced a lot of bands, and I think it’s a place that we deserve. I’m just pleased that we’re at least on the ballot. I’m happy and I’m honored, and fingers crossed that we make it.”
The “Can’t Get Enough” singer Paul Rodgers, gave credit to the band’s fans. He stated, “Bad Company fans and friends have been lobbying for this nomination persistently for years and they never gave up, so big thanks to them.
