Laverne Cox is Cosmopolitan’s First Ever Transgender Cover Star

Laverne Cox lands the cover fo South Africa’s Cosmopolitan Magazine February 2018 issue and she looks fabulous.

The Orange is the New Black star recently landed the cover of Cosmo South Africa February 2018 issue and looks stunning.

Laverne Cox is not only an amazing actress, but she is also an LGBT rights activist and the cover for Cosmo is not the only time she has spoken out about activism. In 2014, she was the first openly transgender to be Emmy nominated for her role in Orange is the New Black and she landed the cover of Time Magazine.  She has also joined the Time’s Up campaign and posted it on her social media.

In the Cosmo February Issue, Laverne Cox talks about what it’s like to be kept a secret by a romantic partner and how trans women deserve to be loved out in the light and she is most definitely not wrong. She stated, “As a black transgender woman, I’ve often been kept a secret by the men that I’ve dated.” She lastly added that an ex-boyfriend invited her to his families house to spend time with them for Hannukah, it was very special for her and who she was as a person.
