Aerie Introduces Positivity Campaign feat. Iskra Lawrence,Yara Shahidi, Aly Raisman, and Rachel Platten

Aerie is adding more girl power to its “REAL” campaign.

The brand has announced that Grown-ish star Yara Shahidi, singer Rachel Platten, U.S. Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman will join model Iskra Lawrence in the #AerieREAL campaign. The ladies will act as #AerieREAL Role Models promoting female empowerment and positivity.


Aerie, an American Eagle Outfitters lingerie line, focuses on body positivity and girl power. The brand also includes swimwear, sleepwear, shirts, and leggings. The Aerie Real campaign started in Spring 2014, when launching ads that were unretouched as a way of “challenging supermodel standards.” The original Aerial Role Model, model Iskra Lawrence will now lead the campaign.

The brand chose their latest additions because of “their influential voices, unique stories, and self-made success.” Jennifer Foyle, the Aerie Global Brand President, states that “Yara, Aly, Rachel, and Iskra truly embody AerieREAL and what it means to be strong, confident, and happy in your own skin.” Shahidi, Platten, and Raisman will also design and collaborate on a line that will be available in Aerie stores this spring. All proceeds from the line will go to the charity of each Role Model’s choice.
